Brag documents
Problem
You don’t remember all of the great things your reports did in the past.
Solution
A brag document is an idea of creating a shared list between manager and a report containing past achievements. Example structure:
**October**
- I proposed alternative solution for "Future X" that we were able to deliver 2x faster compared to the original plan;
- Beat my personal record of PR/s in a month (33)
**November**
- On retro I proposed an idea of async grooming that team supported
- I created an RFC document with a proposition of a new tool for platform team which gained 20 👍The list should be mainly developed by the report but manager could chime in from time to time.
Why do I recommend this
In the past I was using this tool as a default, but then I moved towards 1-1 template which was just easier to maintain. Still in some cases I would use this idea (for myself, for ambitious reports aiming for promotion as a goal, for reports with impostor syndrome to build more confidence).
